Fire is most effective. Additionally you can shoot into it's eye.

Destroying it is worth 500 XP and looting the wreck another 500 XP. Bring enough ammo for its threat level and loot it fast: the noise draws other ARC and Raiders.

Leaper shows up on Dam Battlegrounds, The Spaceport, The Blue Gate and Buried City.
